Measure your face in 3D
Your iPhone's TrueDepth camera captures 1,220 real points on your face. We store them on your device and track how they change.

02 · The mirror

The mirror

You notice something in the mirror — the jaw looks softer, one eye sits lower, the face reads puffier than last month. Then the light changes and you're not sure any of it was real. Selfies don't settle it: angle, lens and lighting move more than your face ever will.

The instrument

Skanyl doesn't look at a photo. It captures the actual shape of your face in 3D with the same TrueDepth sensor that unlocks your phone, then measures it — symmetry in millimetres, proportions against the classical thirds, ratios against φ. Same measurement every time, so a change on the chart is a change in your face, not in the lighting.

03 · TrueDepth
TrueDepth

A real 3D scan, not a selfie

The TrueDepth sensor projects thousands of infrared dots and reads their depth, so Skanyl works with the actual surface of your face — front, both profiles, chin up and chin down. Sub-millimetre geometry, about thirty seconds, no ring light required.

Ten measurements, one honest score

Overall harmony breaks down into symmetry, golden-ratio alignment and facial proportions, each on a 0–100 scale, plus six hard measurements in millimetres — interpupillary distance, face width and height, average asymmetry, nose-to-chin ratio and how evenly your face divides into thirds. Every number comes with what it means and what the reference value is, because a figure without a scale is just a mood.

Put any two scans next to each other, rotate both heads in sync, and read the delta on every metric in green or red. The timeline keeps every scan you've taken, so twelve weeks of small changes finally add up to a line you can see.

A daily plan, graded by evidence

Twenty-two exercises across posture, jaw, tongue, neck, breathing and relaxation, each tagged with how strong the research behind it actually is — strong, moderate or limited — and which area it targets. Skanyl builds a short daily plan around the metrics you scored lowest, tracks your streak, and never pretends a stretch will move a bone.

The Knowledge Lab, with sources attached

Thirty-four articles across eight labs — First Principles, Skin, Bone & Posture, Eye & Brow, Hair, Smile, Inner Levers, Body Vector — written to be read in a few minutes and linked to the peer-reviewed literature on PubMed. It's as direct about what genuinely doesn't work as it is about what does.

Yours alone, by construction

Scans, meshes and metrics live in your iPhone's own storage and are never uploaded — there's no account to create, nothing to log into, and no server holding a model of your face. One button in Settings erases all of it for good.

Turn a scan into a clean summary card made for stories and chats.

PDF report

Save a one-page breakdown of any scan, dated and shareable.

Progress timeline

Every scan on one chart, so trends beat single readings.

Focus areas

The app highlights the metrics you scored lowest and what targets them.

Reminders

A daily exercise nudge and a weekly scan reminder, on your schedule.

Eleven languages

English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian and both Chinese scripts.

Fully offline

Scanning, metrics, exercises and the whole library work with no connection.

12 · How it works

01

Scan

Hold your phone at arm's length and follow five prompts: front, left, right, chin up, chin down. About thirty seconds.

02

Read

Get your harmony score and its breakdown, with every measurement explained in plain language.

03

Repeat

Work the daily plan, scan again next week, and watch the deltas instead of the mirror.

14 · FAQ

Nowhere — they stay on your iPhone. Scans, 3D meshes, metrics and workout logs are written to your device's own storage; Skanyl has no account system and no server that stores face data. The app sends only anonymous usage and crash statistics so it can be fixed when it breaks, and "Delete all data" in Settings erases everything at once.

Yes. Scanning, measuring, the exercises and the whole Knowledge Lab run entirely on device with no connection. You'll only need the internet to manage a subscription.

Any iPhone with a TrueDepth camera — iPhone X and later — running iOS 17 or newer. The depth sensor is what makes a real 3D scan possible, so devices without one can't be supported.

Skanyl measures the geometry ARKit reports from the TrueDepth sensor, at sub-millimetre resolution, and compares it against published proportion references. Small variations between scans come from expression and head position, which is exactly why the app tracks trends across scans rather than treating one number as a verdict.

No. Skanyl is for self-tracking and curiosity — it does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and its metrics are aesthetic and educational, not clinical. For anything health-related, talk to a qualified professional.

Downloading, scanning once a week and your symmetry score are free, along with two of the eight knowledge labs. Pro unlocks the full metric breakdown, unlimited scans, complete history and compare, all 22 exercises, the whole Knowledge Lab, PDF reports and reminders. Current options and pricing are shown in the App Store and in the app.

Subscriptions are handled by Apple: open Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone and cancel there. Access stays until the end of the paid period.

No, and that's deliberate. It reports measurements and how they compare to classical proportion references — it never ranks you, scores your looks against other people, or tells you what to change about yourself.

Write to [email protected] and a human will answer. Bug reports are more useful with your iPhone model and iOS version.

Find out what your face actually measures.
