Write to [email protected] and a human will answer. Bug reports are far more useful with your iPhone model, your iOS version, and what you were doing when it went wrong.

What you need to run it

An iPhone with a TrueDepth camera — iPhone X or later — running iOS 17 or newer. The depth sensor is what makes a real 3D scan possible, so iPhones without one can’t be supported, and neither can iPad or Mac.

The scan won’t start or won’t finish

• Skanyl needs camera permission. Check iOS Settings → Skanyl → Camera, then reopen the app.
• Hold the phone at arm’s length in even light, and follow all five prompts: front, left, right, chin up, chin down. Strong backlight and glasses both interfere with the sensor.
• If the app can’t detect a face at all, clear the notch area — a case lip or screen protector edge can cover the TrueDepth sensor.

My numbers moved and my face didn’t

Small differences between scans are normal: expression, head angle and jaw position all shift the geometry by a fraction of a millimetre. That’s exactly why the app plots a timeline — read the trend across several scans rather than any single reading.

Scan limits and Pro

Downloading, scanning once a week and your symmetry score are free, along with two of the eight knowledge labs. Pro unlocks the full metric breakdown, unlimited scans, complete history and compare, all 22 exercises, the whole Knowledge Lab, PDF reports and reminders. Current options and pricing are shown in the App Store and in the app.

I paid and Pro isn’t showing

Open the paywall and tap Restore purchases, making sure you’re signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it on. If it still doesn’t appear, email us with the approximate purchase date and we’ll sort it out.

Cancelling

Subscriptions are handled by Apple: iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Skanyl → Cancel. Access continues to the end of the period you’ve already paid for.

Deleting your data

Settings → Delete all data wipes every scan, mesh, metric and preference from the device. Nothing is stored on our side, so there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf — and nothing we can restore afterwards.
